About ESN Greece
Greece has been part of the Erasmus Student Network since 1991, when the first local Greek ESN section was founded. Currently, there are 22 local ESN sections in Greece, active in 22 Higher Education Institutions in 10 cities across the country, organizing a wide range of activities for the integration of incoming international students, and the assistance of outgoing local students.
Erasmus Student Network Greece (ESN Greece) is a non-profit volunteering student association and one of the 40 member countries of ESN. It represents the 22 local ESN sections of Greece and acts as a link between them and ESN International. Its mission is to foster student mobility in Higher Education, and to provide opportunities for cultural understanding and self-development under the principle of Students Helping Students. The National Board of ESN Greece consists of six voluntary positions, supported by a number of National Coordinators and Committees.
ESN Greece hosts three National Platforms per year, each attended by representatives from the local sections. Moreover, ESN Greece is regularly represented at various international ESN meetings and events by the National Board and/or section representatives.
The latest edition of the National Event of ESN Greece, namely “The Crete Trip 2017”, took place between the 5th and the 8th of May!
For 4 unforgettable days, more than 700 Erasmus students got #LostinCrete and discovered the beauties of the island! They visited historical sites, swam in crystal-clear waters, and partied till dawn.
More importantly, they were the embodiment of true multiculturalism, friendship and cooperation!
The Crete Trip had been taking place for 7 years now. It is the biggest Erasmus event in Greece, and one of the best in Europe!
